CANYON VIEWPOINT!

The Durmitor region is very beautiful and scenic from all it’s many angles; whether trekking by it’s lakes, climbing it’s mountains, zip lining over it’s river or drinking a coffee in a cafe bar in town, it is simply breathtaking and lovely seeing so much untouched nature in one of the best national parks in Europe! On our Lake and Canyon day out, our guests will get to experience most of these! We start the day by heading down to the Tara bridge, to take photos and try the adrenaline Zip Line, we then head over to see 3 different lakes of Zminjicko, Riblje and Vrazije. There at the lakes (depending on the weather) guests can swim and take a break before heading back into town for a hearty traditional Montenegrin lunch. We finish the day in the afternoon by heading for the best views of the Tara Canyon, at the ‘Curevac Point’. The Curevac point is a short 2 hour Trek (there and back) to it’s edge which looks over the Tara river. Curevac at a height of 1,650 meters above sea level, rises steeply above the Tara river and is considered as its “eternal guardian” and one of the nicest viewpoints of the Durmitor area!

TIME FOR CANYONING!

We had a great adventure season opener for 2017, going with some friends Canyoning over last weekend! We did this Canyoning activity in canyon Rikavac which is located in the town of Bar, along the southern coastal region of Montenegro. The canyon route takes an approx 3 hours to complete and is ideal for group sizes between 4-8 persons. The canyon route takes you through jumps, climbs and abseiling along rock cliffs and waterfalls. This canyon is great for beginners and novices to canyoning before they might try harder canyoning passes such as Nevidio, Medjurejce or Sopot; and is a great introduction to this adrenaline sport! The canyoning routes of Sopot, Medjurejce and Sopot will be added to the activity section soon and can be arranged separately for our guests that are staying by the coast! Hope you enjoy the photos!

TOP DURMITOR REVIEWS!

There has of course as always been great write ups in the press regarding Montenegro and it’s beauty! However recently many press releases about on Montenegro have started to promote and concentrate on the north of the country; opposed to the southern coastline. They have highlighted both the fantastic scenery and activities that the national parks in the north have to offer visitors. The ‘Jetsetter’ website places Montenegro as their number 2 in the top destinations to visit in 2017, adding ‘Durmitor Natioanal Park offers views of peaks and glacial lakes that will sear themselves into your memory, if not your Instagram’. The Telegraph newspaper has placed Durmitor as number 4 in their top 25 places you need to visit in your lifetime in Eastern Europe. The blogging website ‘Best World Yet’ have an excellent article on Montenegro, quoting ‘In a place of such scenic beauty, I believe that pictures speak louder than words. Not even the most eloquent stanzas of poetry can do justice in describing Montenegro’. Lastly ‘Lonely Planet’ have done a fantastic write up on all the activities and cultural elements to be found in the north! So all in all the north of Montenegro, particularly Durmitor is now slowly but surely on the world’s radar!
