SPRING NATURE!

Yesterday we read a great article about the Blake lakes on the website Vijesti.me. The article was written by Jasna Gajevic whom visits the Black Lakes each year. The article is a fantastic write up of the lakes and all of its unique charm and pristine beauty. She writes “The Black lakes, are the most beautiful gift of nature and I come to visit at least twice a year, however each time you get to the point when as if, that I see it enraptured like it is again my first time, and I can not explain this love for the lakes”. She wrote a brilliant article and some of the highlights are “During the tour of the lake, I am never bored because the atmosphere is always different, with different sounds and levels of water. Indeed the Black lakes are no ‘attraction’, as it is an attraction in itself. The surrounding mountain of Medved (Bear) is a climb up, however the view from Medved mountain back down of the lake is absolutely perfect. I’ve never been happier than me when I arrive back near the shores of the lake”. We shared a couple of her wonderful photos.

CRAZY MOUNTAIN WEATHER!

Dear all we have been gearing up for our opening on the 1st May and the month of April has been very hectic for us as you can imagine. We also have had the craziest weather over the past month at our camp in Durmitor. Zabljak in only four days, experienced a massive temperature change, which is best illustrated in the posts photograph. On Thursday 21st April, the temperature was about 20 degrees, and the day was real Spring time, with the 17th April having the hottest ever recorded day ever for that date, on 22 degrees. However only 4 days later the temperature dropped below zero and Zabljak once again had a 30 cm blanket of snow! Judging by the announcements of the meteorological Institute of Montenegro the snow should not retain and this was the last winds of Winter!

MARCH SKIING ACTION!

The month of March has proved a great time for skiers to catch the last bit of snow and winter in Durmitor and a great ski run can be viewed on this youtube clip in the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_6KQ1wixII. You can view how skiing looks from the top of Savin Kuk mountain. The video was uploaded by the Riders.me team who are a group of adventure enthusiasts from the town of Zabljak. They took perfect advantage of a crisp sunny day in March for a vertical ride down 1,000 meters of lovely pure snow; with the top peak and sloping sides to the foot of the mountain having close to 1,000 meters altitude difference. Montenegro-Mountain is now gearing up for our Spring opening and we shall be posting more news shortly!
