KAYAKING ACTION!

Well done and full respect to these brave hearted adrenaline souls that at the end of the last month in November tackled the beautiful Tara River in spectacular Autumn style! Although it has been warm and sunny for this time of year, the temperatures were dropping fast in the north, but not even the weather could deter Paul Savicevic, Andrea Perovic , Slaven Raspopović and Miljko Bulajić  from keeping them away from their Kayaking action along the Tara River. The Kayaking adventure was carried out when the water level of the river was quite low with plenty of excitement and rapids and of course no words are needed for the Canyon’s beauty! These guys all have an active spirit and we at Montenegro-Mountain respect people that enjoy and love their sport! We’ll try and document all with what’s going on in the coming months in the Durmitor region so that our guests are up to date and well informed!

TARA CANYON –WORLD WONDER!

The Tara Canyon was recently included in the Guardian Newspaper as one of the World’s 10 best natural wonders! As written: “With a maximum depth of 1,300m, Europe’s deepest river canyon is a vertigo-inducing sight! To get an idea of how impressive that is, the US’s Grand Canyon has an average depth of 1,600m, so it’s really not far off. The 82km-long canyon runs through Durmitor national park, with the Tara river rushing through its bottom. The best way to explore the canyon is by boat; the last stretch of the river has over 20 rapids that can be tackled on a white-water rafting tour’s”. So it’s a great time for guests to book their weekly stay package here in Montenegro-Mountain which includes our excellent *Premium Rafting activity!

ZABLJAK TO GET NEW SKI LIFT!

Zabljak is also known for its winter season and although Montenegro-Mountain is not currently open in the winter months, this might change with the investment now going into the Ski center! An Azerbaijani company is ready to build a new ski resort in Montenegro, reported local news agency ABC. Azerbaijani ‘Sinkara Holding’ has expressed their desire to build a luxury ski resort in Zabljak. The CEO Aleksera Mehdi said during a visit to Montenegro plans to build five-star hotels with restaurants and cafes, as well as the replacement of the existing ski lifts with new ones, “when I last visited Zabljak, I have seen that it is suitable for construction of a new tourist center. We have built a similar center’s, investing 140 million dollars in those projects. The great advantage of Montenegro is the existence of the entire infrastructure and the ski slopes. The local ski lift is old, but it can be quickly replaced. Climatic conditions are almost identical, “said the CEO. The Honorary Consul of Montenegro in Azerbaijan Vugar Aliyev added “Skiing in Montenegro is increasingly popular”. With now many direct flights from to Podgorica and Tivat airports through the winter months, hopefully winter breaks will be included soon – Montenegro-Mountain will keep you posted!
