NICE DURMITOR WRITE UP!

The UK’s daily Telegraph newspaper recently did another great write up on Montenegro and in it highlighted both the National Durmitor park and Tara Canyon. They wrote > “The UK’s Lake District National Park receives 15.8m annual visitors and can get horrendously busy. So head to Montenegro. A glorious kingdom of sky-scraping peaks, jade-green glacial lakes, ancient black pines, mossy forests and plunging river gorges (including the aforementioned Tara River Canyon), the country’s national park is pure perfection. But it welcomes just 130,000 people each year. Minty Clinch, following a horse riding holiday in 2016 for the telegraph recalled a “profusion of wildflowers in natural grassland… gentians, wild hellebore, rock roses, bellflowers, multiple violets: such rich variety has long disappeared from rural England.”

BEAUTIFUL NATURE!

Hi folks, sorry it has been a long time since our last post as it has been a busy month with guests starting to arrive and now heading into our main seasonal months of business. Our recent guests Jenny and Peter pointed out the beautiful nature and wild flowers & herbs which grow along the valleys and mountains of Durmitor; they said I should do a post on this and place some of the images on our site, which I am doing right now! Along with many edible berries and mushrooms in this area, there are also many herbs such as Jupiter Bush, Lungwort, Speedwell, Wild Thyme, Dandelion, Mint, Yarrow and many more, which are medical herbs. The pure, unpolluted nature in Durmitor makes this herbs even more valuable and considered to be more healing. Medical herbs grow right here in the unpolluted nature of Durmitor, ready to help you keep your health, but also your soul, which may enjoy the wonderful scenes on Durmitor! Although we do concentrate on highlighting the adventure activities it’s always good to note the stunning nature that surrounds us here!

CANYON VIEWPOINT!

The Durmitor region is very beautiful and scenic from all it’s many angles; whether trekking by it’s lakes, climbing it’s mountains, zip lining over it’s river or drinking a coffee in a cafe bar in town, it is simply breathtaking and lovely seeing so much untouched nature in one of the best national parks in Europe! On our Lake and Canyon day out, our guests will get to experience most of these! We start the day by heading down to the Tara bridge, to take photos and try the adrenaline Zip Line, we then head over to see 3 different lakes of Zminjicko, Riblje and Vrazije. There at the lakes (depending on the weather) guests can swim and take a break before heading back into town for a hearty traditional Montenegrin lunch. We finish the day in the afternoon by heading for the best views of the Tara Canyon, at the ‘Curevac Point’. The Curevac point is a short 2 hour Trek (there and back) to it’s edge which looks over the Tara river. Curevac at a height of 1,650 meters above sea level, rises steeply above the Tara river and is considered as its “eternal guardian” and one of the nicest viewpoints of the Durmitor area!
